Once you create this freebie offer, it will act as a magnet for leads. People will be drawn to sign up for your list.
The Opt-In Form
Your opt-in form is where people will physically sign up for your list. You’ll get this form via your autoresponder company—like AWeber or GetResponse.
It will generally have a place for people to enter their name and email address, though you can adjust which fields it contains.
You’ll have an opt-in form on your squeeze page for sure—if not more.
I also recommend you have an opt-in form on every page of your blog or website. The more spots you have your opt-in form, the better.
You can also place a small amount of text that details your lead magnet, what people are getting for free. Many marketers also choose to put a privacy notice there and things of that nature.
I’ve mentioned your squeeze page already and that’s a very important part of the process. Your squeeze page is a page that’s designed to get people to sign up for your list.
Generally, it acts as a really concise “sales page” for your lead magnet. It typically contains a headline, bullet points, a short paragraph or two, and possibly your picture and sign-off.
This page is the start of the relationship you’ll develop with those who sign up for your list. They should get a sense of who you are, even if you don’t really write about yourself much or at all on this page. They’ll see that you’re someone of authority who’s giving them something for free that will really help them.
Your squeeze page really should focus on the benefits the person who will download your freebie offer will receive. Why should they hand over their email address? Make the offer and the squeeze page text so good that people who you’re targeting don’t want to leave the page without signing up.
After someone signs up for your list, you can choose to present an offer. This can be an offer that is very highly related to the freebie they have just signed up for.
Don’t present something just because you want to try to earn money. It should be something that will really help people—an offer you feel good about presenting.
You can also choose to present an offer later, after the relationship has started to develop a bit. You can present the offer in a broadcast email, autoresponder email, or whatever works for you.
Don’t be shy about presenting an offer to your list. Actually, right after someone has gotten something for free from you is a good time to present an offer.
It’s a good idea to load your autoresponder account up with autoresponder messages. These are messages that go out to your list subscribers during intervals that you set ahead of time.
It’s important that you use your autoresponder messages to build a relationship with your audience. You want to be the authority they turn to first.

You can send information, links to posts and articles you’ve written, and offers.
Broadcast messages are important because they help people feel connected to you. They’re also a great avenue for making sales.
